Mr. and Mrs. D. Keegan Both Die This Thursday
Death TodayMr. and Mrs. Daniel Keegan, both long-time residents of Plymouth county, passed away today in the Sacred Heart hospital.
Mrs. Keegan. the former Mary Farrell, was taken to the hospital at 6 p. m. on Wednesday. She died al 2:30 a. m. Thursday. Mr. Keegan fell, sustaining a broken hip about two weeks ago, and had been hospitalized. He died at 1:30 p.m. today.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Keegan were born at Maple Park, Ill. He was born on October 19, 1864, and was 91 years of age. She was born on July 4, 1868, and was 86 years, 11 months and 5 days of age. The couple were married on July 3, in 1888, at St. Joseph's Catholic church at Neptune. The family farmed in Union township until 16 years ago.
Double funeral services will be held at 9 a. m. Monday, June 13, al St. James Catholic church, and burial will be in Calvary cemetery under direction of the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home. Father L. J. LaVelle will officiate. Friends can call at the funeral home after 7 p. m. Saturday.
Survivors of the couple are; a son, George Keegan. of Le Mars, a daughter, Mrs. Koland Letsch of Remsen; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister of Mr. Keegan, Mrs. Mac Helt of Pella, Iowa.
Mrs. Keegan was preceded in death by 7 brothers and a sister, and Mr. Keegan was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.
