IGNATZ RINGEL WAS OSTLER AT FARMERS HOTEL IN PIONEER DAYS.Funeral rites were held for Ignatz Ringel, aged 72, an old resident of LeMars, at St. James church Wednesday morning, Rev. Father L. J. Cooper officiating, and interment was made in St. Joseph Catholic cemetery.
Mr. Ringel died Monday afternoon at the Weidenfeller rooming house, 114 Second Avenue SW., where he had made his home for a long time.
Ignatz Ringel was a native of Austria and came to the United States when a young man. He was a resident of LeMars for many years and in the early days was employed as hostler at farmers hotels. For a number of years he was employed in the city street department. Of late he had worked as porter in a local pool hall. Mr. Ringel was a single man. He was a member of the Order of Eagles.
His death was caused by pneumonia following an illness of ten days of influenza.
