RETIRED LE MARS AREA FARMER DEAD AT AGE 80

Patrick F. Swain, 80, retired Le Mars farmer, died Monday after a short illness at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Mary Woods, in Sioux City.

Mr. Swain was born May 21, 1878, at Marengo, Iowa, and farmed near Le Mars until retiring. He had resided in Sioux City the last eight years.

Surviving are the sons, Leo of Freemont, Neb:, John of Le Mars and George of Pampa, Tex.; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Woods of Sioux City, Mrs. Helen Barnett of Arcadia, Calif., and Mrs. Henry (Clara) Skuza of Lancaster, Ohio; three grahdchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Anna Delaney, and one daughter, Bernice Lauters.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Catholic church here, with Rev. L. J. LaVelle officiating. Interment will be in Calvary cemetery.

Friends may call at the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday, with parish rosary scheduled at 8 p.m.
