Soldier Killed In Highway Accident
Pvt. Donald HonsPvt. Donald Hons, 18, son of Clarence Hons, of
Kingsley, was killed in an accident on highway 59, eight miles south of Cherokee last Saturday. Raymond Buenger, Cherokee farmer, reported that
Hons darted from a ditch into the path of the car Buenger was driving. Buenger said he swerved to miss the soldier and put on the brakes, but his car struck Hons, killing him instantly.Published Hinton paper, 7/24/1953.
