Life’s End.
MRS. FRANK BRAUN SUCCUMBS
LEAVING 139 DESCENDANTS.

Funeral services were at 10”30 a.m. Monday for Mrs. Frank (Catherine) Braun, 87, of 1034 Central Ave. SE.

The Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. D. Fisch officated at rites in St. Joseph Catholic church. burial was in Calvary cemetery under the direction of the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home.

Mrs. Braun died Friday at Sacred Heart hospital after an illness of three weeks.

She is survived by five sons, six daughters, 38 grandchildren and 90 great-grandchildren.

The sons are Arthur of Alton, John of Palo Alto, Calif., Franz of Remsen, Carl of LeMars and Paul of Northridge, Calif.

The daughters are Mrs. Ben (Philomine) Mairose of LeMars, Mrs. Joe (Josephine) Alesch of Marcus, Mrs. William (Gertrude) Groetken of South Gate, Calif., Mrs. Leonard (Rita) Hoffman of Estherville, Mrs. Fred (Leona) Wicklow of New York City, and Mrs. Gregg (Mary) Kass of Sibley.

Also surviving are a brother and sister, Peter Nepper of Wilcox, Sask., Canada and Mrs. Gertrude Rogers of Atlantic, Iowa.

The former Catherine Nepper was born March 27, 1878, at Roselle in Carroll county. Her marriage to Frank Braun took place Feb. 25, 1898, at Exira and the couple came to this country in 1909. They farmed near here until retiring to LeMars in 1952. Mr. Braun died in 1958. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Collette.

Mrs. Braun was a member of the Christian Mothers society and Third Order of St. Francis.
