Hoyt Hunter Dies At Quinn, S.D.

The body of Hoyt Hunter, 89, former resident of Sioux City and Plymouth County, who died last Thursday at Quinn, S.D., arrived in Sioux City Wednesday for services and burial.

Mr. Hunter, one-time superintendent of schools of Sanborn County, S.D., died at a Quinn hospital after a long illness. He was born February 25, 1864, at St. Peter, Minn. He moved to Plymouth County in 1867.

He attended high school in Sioux City. Later he taught in Sanborn County and became school superintendent. He moved to Quinn in 1908, operating a store at first and later engaging in real estate and insurance business.

Surviving are a sister, Miss Molly A. Hunter of Sioux City, and a brother Dale, of Westfield, Ia, five nieces and four nephews.
