Dale M. Hanks, 55, Sioux City, died unexpectedly Sunday (Jan. 11, 1981) at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the United Church of Christ at Rodney.
Rev. Dale Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Grant Township cemetary near Rodney under direction of the Wilman Funeral Home of Rodney.
Mr. Hanks was born Oct. 3, 1925, near Merrill. He lived in Ida Grove and attended schools there. He later moved to Ute where he farmed with his parents.
He married Dorothy Ingram Feb. 28, 1946, at Onawa. They had lived in Woodbury county for 16 years and in Sioux City the last five years. He had worked at American Pop Corn Co. for 10 years at the time of his death.
Survivors are his wife; three sons, Donald D.
of Sioux City, Ronald of Hornick, Iowa, and Lyle D. of Hinton; three daughters, Sharon and Mrs. Steven (Joyce) Mead, both of Sioux City and Mrs.
Randall (Sandra) Grasz of Merrill; his mother,
Mrs. Rachel Hanks of Onawa; seven brothers, Wayne and Gilbert of Oregon, James of Mondamin, Louis of Sloan, Earl of Quimby, and Walter and Jerry, both of Onawa; three sisters, Mrs. Wyman (Dolise)
Shasteen, Mrs. Rosella Shasteen and Mrs. William
Shasteen, all of Oregon; and 14 grandchildren.Published Hinton newspaper, 1/15/1981.
