Thomas Herbert "Tom" Dennison

April 7, 1934 ~ June 17, 2022

Thomas H. Dennison, 88, of Westfield, IA passed away Friday, June 17, 2022 at Mercy One Hospital in Sioux City, IA.

Memorial Services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Tom was born on April 7, 1934 to Thomas and Blase (Bogenreif) Dennison just south of Westfield, IA at their home. While he was young his family moved to a farm near Ellendale (Merrill), IA. Tom attended Country School there until 1949. His family then moved to his grandparent's farm south of Westfield. While he was living there, he attended Westfield Community School where he later graduated in 1952. He attended Iowa State University for two years.

He met the love of his life, Barbara Neal, best friend and forever person his freshman year of high school. They began dating and did so until their wedding day on October 30, 1954. He was proud to have her as his sweetheart for 75 years. They lived in Sioux City for three years and later moved to a small house near his family farm for six years. They then moved to the town of Westfield where he served on the town council. They then moved to the family farm in 1968. There they raised their family of seven children.

Throughout his life he was a merchandise salesman for PAMIDA for over 40 years while also farming. Tom coached the Westfield Little League Team and coached all of his boys through the years. He was very dedicated to attending all of his kid's activities.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, daughters; Deanna (Roger) Heyl, Kathryn (Kirk) Banks, sons; Bill (Janet) Dennison, John (Tanya) Dennsion, thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, sisters; Nora Gurnik and Charlotte Rowbury.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three sons; Tom, Mike and Pat Dennison and his In-Laws, Byrel and Evelyn Neal.
