Bernard Erdmann

Bernard Erdmann was born in Muenster, Westphalen, Germany, on Nov. 1, 1848, and was 78 years, 7 months and 1 day old at the time of his death. He came to this country with his parents at the age of 8 years and lived at New Vienna, Ia., where he grew two young men hood, and was married to Anna Detten, Jan. 23, 1878 at Dubuque, Ia., where they lived for a few years. Then they moved to Danbury for some time. Thirty-eight years ago they moved to Plymouth county where they lived on a farm southeast of Le Mars for 10 years, then moved to town, where he has lived for the past 26 years.

He leaves to mourn his death six children: Frank of Madison, Minn.; Henry, Clarissa, Minn.; Joseph, Madison; Elizabeth Acker, Madison; John, Le Mars, and Anton, Clarissa; also 12 grandchildren and one brother, Wm. Erdmann of Umbruger, Tex. His wife proceeded him in death on 6th of April, this year. Mr. Erdmann has always had the best of health until about a year ago, and was taken to his bed, where he remained almost 10 months.

Those attending the funeral were all of his children, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Erdmann, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Erdmann, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Acker, Henry and Anton Erdmann and Frank Eike of Peosta., Mr. and Mrs. Gus Rosberg of Remsen, Mrs. Earl Felk of Remsen, Fred Erdmann and son of Luverne, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Hellman of Granville; Fred Vogel of Moneta, Ia., and George Werdl of Cherokee.
