Mrs. Louis Fiedler
Mrs. Louis (Elizabeth) Fiedler, 76, Waterloo, former Oyens and Remsen resident, died Wednesday night at St. John’s hospital in Santa Monica, Calif., while visiting her daughters.

She was stricken with cancer and became too ill to return to her home in Waterloo.

Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic church with Rev. Dean Walker officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under direction of Luedtke funeral home.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. Parish rosary will be said 8 p.m. Sunday and the Catholic Daughers rosary will be at 8:30 p.m.

The former Elizabeth Nye, she was born March 25, 1893, in Plymouth County. She married Peter Kemp Nov. 19, 1912, in LeMars. He died in February 1937.

She married Louis Fiedler Sept. 11, 1948, at Waterloo. They operated a cafe in Remsen for several years. In 1948 they moved to Waterloo where they operated a gift shop in the hospital.

She went to California in 1967 and had been in ill health since.

She was a member of St. John’s guild and CDA at Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Survivors are her husband, Louis, of Waterloo; two daughters, Mrs. C. W. (Alecia) Kempshall and Mrs. Vincent (Phyllis) Schendell, both of Northridge, Calif.; a son, Vernard Kemp of Rolling Hill, Calif.; four step-daughters, Mrs. Robert Larson, Mrs. Lorraine Meyer, Mrs. Donald Vial and Sister Louis Marie B.V.D., at Dubuque; two step-sons, Louis Fiedler Jr., Evanston, Ill., and Quentin Fiedler, Cedar Falls.
