On Sunday last Walter LeRoy Lambert was drowned in the Willow Creek, just below the bridge, on Seney road.

Walter was engaged in herding, and he and a number of small boys went into the creek to "wash off". Walter could not swim and, against the urgent remonstrance of one of the boys who could swim, ventured into deep water. He soon went under, and, notwithstanding the frantic efforts of his companions, was drowned.

Funeral services were held next day in the M. E. Church, conducted by the Rev. H. W. Jones.

The boy was 10 years, 7 months and 26 days old. His bereaved parents received the profound sympathy of the community.
