JoLynn Black, 67 of Akron, Iowa, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022 at MercyOne Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 28, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron, Iowa. Visitation with no family present will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the church. Burial will be at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Akron.

JoLynn Mary Black was born on September 18, 1954 in Sioux City, Iowa to Arlyn and Janiece (Peters) Black. She graduated from Akron High School in 1972. She later attended DMACC and graduated with an Associate's Degree in accounting. JoLynn had worked at several different businesses over the years including the Akron Register Tribune. After living and working in Texas and Wyoming, she made her home in Akron for many years. JoLynn was a member at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron. She enjoyed reading and getting together for family gatherings.

JoLynn is survived by her brothers: Doug (Monti) Black of The Woodlands, TX, Greg Black of Spirit Lake, IA, Jim (Sharyl) Black of Dakota Dunes, SD, and Tom (Wendy) Black of Norwalk, IA; nieces and nephews: Laura (Allen) Graham, Katherine (Jacob) Thoren, Jared Black, Wyatt Black, Leah Black, and Emilee Black; 2 great nephews; uncle, Donald 'Pete' Peters; aunts: Joyce Wingert, Marlene (Lamoyne) Phillips, and Betty Black; and other extended relatives.

JoLynn is preceded in death by her parents, Arlyn Black and Janiece (Peters) Black; and numerous aunts and uncles.
