Jerry Lee Albers, 83, of Onawa, Iowa passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Burgess Health Center, Onawa, Iowa.

A memorial service will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, January 7, 2022 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Mapleton, Iowa with Reverend Christopher LaBoube, officiating. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be 3:30 P.M. Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Resthaven Cemetery, Le Mars, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Jerry Lee was born July 24, 1938 in rural Struble, Iowa, the son of Alfred Albers and Lucille (Trafton) Pedersen. He grew up on a farm and went to country school. He attended Maurice school. The family moved to California for one year. They moved to Hinton and Jerry graduated from Hinton High School in 1957. After high school Jerry was in the Army National Guard. He worked for Culligan in Le Mars for nine years. Jerry went on to Northwestern Community College for one year and graduated with a drafting degree.

Jerry and Darlene Hansen were united into marriage August 27, 1961 in Hinton, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Todd and David.

Jerry worked for Monona County as a bridge inspector for twenty-nine and a half years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, yardwork, and changing oil.

He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Mapleton, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene Albers of Onawa, Iowa; children, Todd (Carla) Albers of Des Moines, Iowa, and David Albers of Indianola, Iowa; grandchild, Hunter Albers of Indianola, Iowa; brother, Dale (Bev) Albers of Hinton, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Albers and Lucille Albers-Pedersen; brother, Wayne Albers; and stepfather, Harry Pedersen.
