County Pioneer Called By Death

Mrs. John Freiberg Laid to Rest Wednesday Afternoon

Mrs. John Freiberg, died at her home in Struble on Monday, after being sick with a heart ailment for the past six months. She was 79 years, 9 months, and 27 days of age.

Bertha Auguste Wilhelmine Eggebrecht Freiberg was born on September 16, 1868 in Kreis Dermin, in Prussia Germany. She received her schooling and grew to womanhood in Germany. On December 3, 1892, she was married. In 1906 they came to this country and first came to Sioux county. Later they moved to Struble and then to a farm south of Struble and later to a farm near Craig. Four and a half years ago they moved back to Struble. Mrs. Freiberg has been a member of the Lutheran church in Craig since living here.

She is survived by her husband, John Freiberg, and five children; three daughters and two sons, Frank of Grant township, Albert of Struble, Mrs. Fred Martfield of Le Mars, Mrs. Charles Plueger of Grant township, Mrs. Henry Urban of Merrill; ten grandchildren, four sisters, who are, Mrs. Minnie Pieper of Craig, Mrs. Auguste Neubauer of Battle Creek, Ia., Mrs. Earnest Kube of Cushing, la., Mrs. Fred Baack of Struble, one brother, Hermann Eggebrecht of Craig.

She was. preceded in death by four children.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon in the St. John's Lutheran church at Craig, with Rev. Voelker officiating. Interment was made in the Reading township cemetery in Sioux County.

Pallbearers were: Mike Lang, John Moritz, Pete Wilhelmi, H. F. Groetken, and John Garding.
