God brought Sylvia M. Chapman into this world on January 11, 1914. On Thursday, of this past week [March 9, 1989], at the age of 75, God called Sylvia to her eternal home, giving to her the crown of eternal life.
Sylvia was born to Henry and Wilhelmine Siege in Sioux County. She was baptized on January 17, 1914, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ireton and was also confirmed there on April 9, 1927. She married her husband, Marion, on November 26, 1935. Marion passed away a few months ago.
Sylvia was a homemaker and realtor. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Lydia Circle and LWML, the Business and Professional Women’s Organization and the Plymouth County Board of Realtors.
Sylvia is survived by her son Marc, her daughter, Merry Kool, by six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and by many other relatives and friends.
Following a Christian funeral on Monday, March 13, at Grace Lutheran Church in LeMars with Rev. Larry C. Fett officiating, Sylvia’s mortal remains will be laid to rest in LeMars Memorial Cemetery, there to await the trumpet call of God when she shall be raised to become a glorified and immortal body and give praise to God for His mercy forever.
