C. Wesley Buck, 91, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, at a Sioux City hospital.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Janice Bennett officiating. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Christy-Smith Berkemier Chapel.
C. Wesley Buck, the son of Leonard and Mary M. (Marley) Buck, was born April 14, 1914, in Settler, Canada. As a young child, he moved with his family to Akron, Iowa, then to Sioux City, where he attended Cooper School. He served in the U.S. Army.
He was united in marriage to Leona Moore on Oct. 8, 1947, in South Sioux City. He worked as a fish peddler for years and later drove a mail truck for a local contractor.
He was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church and a life-long member of the Disabled American Veterans. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed watching his Cubs play baseball, snooker and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife, Leona F. Buck of Sioux City; two daughters, Peggy and her husband, Alvin Bush, of Sioux City and Leonetta Reed of Sioux City; a son and his wife, Wes and Dianne Buck of Sioux City; eight grandchildren, Melissa, Jeramy, Josh, Melinna, Michelle, Jeff, Derek and Trevor; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Jason Reed; a sister, Leonetta Adams; and a brother, Udell Buck.
