MAYNARD HOFFMAN
Gillette, Wyo. – At his request cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held later in LeMars, Iowa, for Maynard Hoffman, 89, who died Nov. 29, 2000, at Campbell County Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 18, 1911, in Westfield, Iowa, to Bert and Mary (Foust) Hoffman. He was raised in the area and farmed with his father.

In 1934, he married Opal Knott in LeMars and they had two children.

He farmed in Iowa and South Dakota for 40 years.

He moved to Fullerton, Calif. and was a custodian at Cal State for 18 years.

In 1970, he married Ruby Hill in Las Vegas.

In February 1993, he moved to Gillette to be with his son.

He was an honest man who took pride in his work.

Survivors include his son, Robert Hoffman and his wife of Gillette, four grandchildren all of Gillette, 10 great-grandchildren and three sisters.

He was preceded in death by his first wife in 1967, his daughter Marilyn in 1989, his second wife in 1993, six brothers and one sister.

Fuller-Roberts Funeral Chapel of Sundance is in charge of arrangements.
