Friday, January 11, 1924Mrs. Antje Meyer, an old and well known resident of Grant township, died at a hospital in Cherokee on Tuesday night. Mrs. Meyer had suffered from cerebral trouble for a long time and was taken to the hospital last June. Her maiden name was Antje Westhoff, and she was born in Strockholdt, Ost Friesland, Germany, 74 years ago.
When a young woman she came to America and shortly after her arrival came to LeMars and lived in Grant township the rest of her life. She was twice married, her first husband being Wm. Ludwigs. Subsequent to his death, she was united in marriage with Habbe Meyer, who also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Meyer is survived by her brother, J. G. Westhoff, who lives in LeMars. Mrs. Meyer was well known in Grant township, especially among the older residents, and was active in community work, and in attending to home affairs until overtaken by illness.
The funeral Services will be held this afternoon at Christ church, Grant township, Rev. J. D. Meyer, the pastor officiating, and the interment will be made in the cemetery at that place.
