Martin ‘Marty’ Huckle, 92, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 at his home in Le Mars.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Father Matthew Solyntjes will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday and following the service during a time of lunch and fellowship at the funeral home. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Martin “Marty” Huckle was born April 23, 1926 on a farm west of Le Mars, Iowa, the son of Aloysius and Catherine (Bender) Huckle. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars. He attended school at Gehlen Catholic in Le Mars. Following his schooling, he helped his father on the farm. Later, he worked construction in the area.

He was united in marriage to Lucille (Vande Pol) Pageler on July 2, 1966 in Elk Point, South Dakota.

He then went to work for Murphy Feeds in Sioux City, Iowa until his retirement. Following retirement, he worked various part time jobs.
Marty had a strong faith and was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars. He had the ability to fix and build just about anything. He and Lou enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad. They enjoyed 31 years of wintering in Texas. Marty enjoyed riding his motorcycle and participating in motocross. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, and was an avid reader. But most of all, he loved the times spent with his family.

Survivors include his wife of over 52 years, Lou of Le Mars; four children: Val (Paul) Grant of Le Mars, Roxane (Mike) Gonzales of Las Vegas, NV, Torrie (Dave) Huls of Le Mars, and Terry (Brenda) Pageler of Lenexa, KS; 11 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aloysius and Catherine Huckle; and his siblings and spouses: William ‘Duke’ (Lois) Huckle, Rita (Alfred) Harms, and Eva (Eugene) Boge.
