Funeral Home Obituary

Arlene M. Olson, 95, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 at Accura Healthcare in Le Mars. Private family funeral services will be held at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Pastor Renae Behrends of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Le Mars will officiate. Burial will take place at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Le Mars. Public visitation with masks and social distancing will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home.

Arlene Marion Olson was born on February 7, 1925 in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Minnie (Weber) Plueger. She was raised in the Le Mars area and was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Le Mars.

Arlene and Bill “Willie” Olson were united in marriage on June 17, 1949 at Christ Lutheran Church (Grant Township) rural Le Mars. Prior to Arlene’s move to Accura Healthcare, she enjoyed cooking, working on ceramics, flower gardening and visiting with family and friends.

She is lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law, Alma Willer of Le Mars; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill “Willie” Olson on June 30, 2004; a sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Lester Schultz; a brother and sister-in-law, Stan and Helen Plueger; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Fred and Helen Olson, Lawrence and Eunice Olson, Albert and Norma Olson, Calmer and Theda Olson, Violet and Kenny Heien and Margaret Olson.

Memorials may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Le Mars.
