LE MARS, Iowa – Louise Lena Alma Lang, 85, of Le Mars died Thursday, Jan. 16, 1997, at the Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in Le Mars.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Hinton, Iowa, with the Rev. Michael Boykin officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars.

Mrs. Lang was born Aug. 9, 1911, in rural Plymouth County, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Freida (Tobolt) Schoenrock. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church. She attended country school at Stanton Township in rural Le Mars. She married Harold Lang on May 29, 1935, at Trinity Lutheran Church. The couple farmed in Stanton Township, retiring in 1976, and moved into Le Mars in 1980. She became a resident of Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in 1993.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and taught Sunday school. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter and her husband, Neva and Noel Fries of Raleigh, N. C.; three sons, Kendall and David of Le Mars, and Daniel and his wife Sue of Merrill, Iowa; two sisters, Viola Lang of Le Mars and Leona Lahrs of Hinton; seven grandchildren, Nancy Martis, Nicki and Noelle Fries, Natalie Archambault, Tim, Mike and Tyler Behrens; and six great=grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Lester, infancy, Walter and Eldon Schoenrock.
Pallbearers will be Doug, Curtis and Phil Schoenrock, Tim and Cliff Lang, and Warren Lahrs.
