Loda Mae Bean
Loda Mae Bean, 87, of Akron, Iowa, died Wednesday, February 22, 1995, at Morningside Manor Nursing Home Alcester, South Dakota, after a long illness.
Services were held Friday, Feb. 24, at Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron, the Rev. Donald Greenough officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Akron, Iowa.
Casket bearers were Vernold Olson, Curt Lewison, Donald Gale, Allen VanderHelm, Norbert Isert, and Roger Johnson.
Mrs. Bean was born January 14, 1908, in Flinton, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Amos J. and Loda G. (Alexander) Glass. She lived in Pennsylvania where she attended a one room town school and then kept house for other people until moving to Akron. She married Chester Bean December 14, 1949, in Akron.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Akron.
Survivors include four sisters, Ellen Miller and Mary Jane Dillen, both of Utahville, Pennsylvania; Dessie Paretta of Port Clinton, Ohio and Margaret (Mrs. Roy) Mussen, Hartford, Connecticut; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Leonard and Elliott; and two sisters, Essie and Isabell.
