Prominent Fredonia Township Woman Fatally Hurt in Auto Upset

On Way to Funeral

Mrs. John P. Wurth Dies Following Injuries

Friends were notified yesterday of the death of Mrs. Wurth, wife of John P. Wurth, prominent and widely known farmer of Fredonia township, which occurred in a hospital at Mitchell, S. D. Death was the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Wurth were n their way to Woonsocket, S. D., to attend the funeral of J. P. Wolff, an uncle of Mr. Wurth. When they were within about fifteen miles of their destination a tire on one of the wheels of the Ford coach they were driving blew out and the car was overturned into a ditch alongside the road.

Mrs. Wurth was conveyed to the hospital at Mitchell where an examination showed she had suffered a fracture of one leg and serious injuries on the head. Her injuries proved fatal at an early hour Monday morning. The remains will be brought back to her home. No funeral arrangements have yet been made.

Leaves Large Family

Mrs. Wurth was widely known in the county, having lived here practically all her life and was prominent in the Oyens community. Her maiden name was Mary Heissel. When a girl she was united in marriage with John P. Wurth, of Fredonia township.

Besides her husband she leave ten children who are: Fidelis M. Wurth, of Sioux City; Oswald Wurth, of Montana; Mrs. Lloyd Tentinger, of Remsen; Mrs. Kenneth Lee, of Merrill; William, Margaret, Rose, Louis, Lucille and Dorothy, living at home.
