Clarence Yates
Clarence E. Yates, 67, longtime Le Mars area resident, died Friday 15, 1980 at St. Luke's, hospital, after a 6-month illness.
Services will be Monday, Feb. 18, at 2 First United Methodist Church, Le Mars. Rev. Leonard Root will officiate and burial will be in Le Mars Memorial Cemetery under the direction of; the Mauer funeral home in Le Mars.
A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Yates was born Sept. 18, 1912, at Lawton to Herbert Yates and Mary Edna DeLaughter Yates. Both parents died in 1978.
Clarence lived in the Lawton area as a youth and moved to Brunsville in the 1940s. He farmed at Brunsville and moved to Le Mars in 1955. He was a retired Plymouth county highway department employee
His marriage to Leona Kisting took place Dec. 31,1935, at Lawton.
Survivors are his wife, Leona, Le Mars; five daughters, Mrs. Selmar (Darlene) Bergerson, Oyens; Mrs. Dale (Arlene) Klemme, Akron; Mrs. Marlene Hagan, Kingsley; Mrs. Jerry (Eilene) Rolling, Le Mars; Mrs. Richard (Charlene) Williams, Le Mars; 20 grandchildren; two brothers, Chester, Des Moines and Herbert Yates, Jr. Westfield; and two sisters, Mrs. Lucile Schwedler, Moville, and Mrs. Katherine Dreeszen, Westfield
