Edward J. Hentges, 80, died at the Sacred Heart hospital, Tuesday after a long sickness.

Funeral services were at 9:30 Thursday (today) at St. Joseph Catholic church. Rev. Msgr. J. D. Fisch officiated. Burial was in the family plot in a cemetery at Yankton, South Dakota.

Mr. Hentges was born February 24, 1876, at Le Mars. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hentges, early day residents here. He married Kathleen Daugherty at Yankton. Mr. Hentges was well known in mercantile circles having been associated with his brothers in owning and operating clothing stores at Yankton, Le Mars, Mason City and Carroll.

He retired six years ago and moved to Redland, California. In June 1956, he returned here to make his home. His wife died in 1945.

Survivors are four brothers: John of Redland, Frank C., Joseph V. and Roma F., all of Le Mars and two sisters, Misses Cecelia and Clementine, both of Le Mars.
