Mrs. Gerdina Dresselhuys, an old resident of LeMars, died at her home, 617 Cedar street, on Saturday night, April 5, 1913, following a long illness. Mrs. Dresselhuys had been ill for the past year, suffering from diabetes, and for some time it had been known that recovery was hopeless and that the end was near. Mrs. Dresselhuys was a native of Holland, and was born at Voorste October 25, 1841, where she grew to womanhood and was married to Dr. G. F. Dresselhuys, and to this union nine children were born, seven girls and two boys, who are: Mrs. Fred Weenink, Carnes; Fred Dresselhuys, Wagner, South Dakota; Mrs. Wm. Blessing, Chicago; Mrs. C. L. Loffler, Denver, Colo.; Clarence Dresselhuys, Aberdeen, South Dakota; Mrs. C. W. Edmonds, Omaha, Nebr.; Misses Hattie, Effie and Mathilda Dresselhuys, of LeMars.

Following the death of her husband, which occurred in Holland, Mrs. Dresselhuys brought her family of children to LeMars, which has been their home since. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. J. Wandscheeer, of Sioux Center. The funeral will be held from the residence at half past two on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. M. O. Lambly, pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiating, the deceased having been a member of that church for many years.—LeMars Sentinel.
