Note: His wife's maiden name is ether Dodkins or Dotkins. Her obituary has it spelled Dotkins and his spells it Dodkins.

Thomas Warren received the sad news Saturday of the death of his father near Elk Point.

Joseph Warren was born at Newsells, Hertfordshire, Eng., April 25, 1834, where he spent the early part of his life. Was married to Emma Dodkins at Barkway, Hertfordshire, in 1854. To them were born twelve children, three of whom died in England.

Mr. and Mrs. Warren came to LeMars in 1880, where they lived about two years and then settled on a farm near Westfield, where they continued to reside until until Mrs. Warren's death, November 26, 1906. Since her death he had been living with his sons, George and Jonas, going with them last spring to Dakota, where they had claims. They had lately returned and were lving on a farm near Elk Point, where he died January 7, 1911, aged nearly 77 years.

The remains were brought to Westfield Tuesday and funeral services were held in the Congregational church, Rev. John Nickerson preaching the sermon. A large number of old-time friends and acquaintances gathered in respect to the one whom they had known in former years. The florall offerings were very appropriate. Interment in Riverside cemetery, Akron, beside his wife.

Joseph Warren leaves to mourn his departure five sons and four daughters--Thos. of Westfield; George and Jonas, near Elk Point; James, of Canton; John, near Elk Point; James, of Canton; John, near Alcester; Mrs. Mary Thompson, of LeMars; Mrs. Martha McDougall, of Struble; Mrs. Sarah Hinchcliff and Mrs. Anna Perkins, of Fergus Falls, Minn.
