DEATH COMES TO FORMER AKRON MAN LAST THURSDAY
Rites Are Held In Sioux City Monday For William R. Farrin
Wm. R. Farrin, 74, a former Akron, died at his home in Sioux City, Thursday evening, September 28, 1948. He had been in failing health since early January, when he suffered a hip fracture.
William Randolph Farrin was born June 23, 1874 [apparently, an error], at Evansville, Ill. He lived in Akron vicinity before moving to Sioux City a number of years ago.
Surviving are the widow (nee Maggie Buck); three sons, Raymond and Theodore, of Sioux City, and Ralph, of Philnook, Ore.; a stepson, Leonard of Magee, of Sioux City; two daughters, Mrs. O. M. Abbott, of Freeland Park, Ind., and Mrs. N. L. Boucher, of Sioux City; a stepdaughter, Mrs. R. E. Fletcher, of Sioux City; two brothers, Frank F. Farrin, of Sioux City, and Dudley Farrin, of Akron; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at a funeral home in Sioux City, Rev. R. A. Cowling, of St. Paul Episcopal church officiating. Interment was in Riverside cemetery, Akron.
