CHARLES A. CLOSNER 1864-1961Charles Andrew Closner, 97, 1705 Riverside boulevard, died Wednesday at a hospital after a one-month illness.
Mr. Closner was born May 15, 1864 at Milwaukee, Wis. He came to Iowa in 1868 with his parents who homesteaded east of James, Ia. He resided on a farm until retiring. He came to Sioux City in 1939.
He married Susie Luksan in 1910 at LeMars, Ia.
Survivors are the widow; three sons, William and Valentine, both of Sioux City; and Sgt. Merlin in Korea; three daughters, Mrs. Myron Abeel of Sioux City, Mrs. Arthur Reich and Mrs. Herbert Hill, both of Lakewood, Cal., and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services for Charles A. Closner, 97, 1705 Riverside boulevard, who died Wednesday, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Nelson-Berger Morningside funeral home.
Rev. Orion Anderson will officiate, and burial will be in Liberty township cemetery in Plymouth county.
Pallbearers will be Harley Small, sr., Ervin Vehe, Lloyd Crouch, Harold Beaulieu, Bernard Kelly, and Arthur Closner.
