Met Tragic Death Last Week

John H. Siebels, a farmer of Wentworth, S. D. died June 20th in a hospital at Madison, S. D., from injuries suffered that morning when his auto crashed into a train. E suffered many injuries any of which might have caused his death.

Funeral services were held from St. Paul’s Lutheran church in Wentworth of which he was a member, with Rev. R. W. Muth in charge. His body was brought to Ireton Sunday afternoon and at 2:30 services were held in St. Paul’s Lutheran church here with Rev. H. W. Krieger in charge. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery.

John H. Siebels was born in Germany October 14, 1879, and when he came to America he located in Plymouth county and later he came to Sioux county and he farmed here for many years. He was united in marriage with Anna Renken, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Renken, in Septiember, 1910. She preceded him in death in January, 1920 (1929).

Three children survive this union. On February 28, 1932, he was married to Miss Gatha Braaks, daughter of Mrs. H. W. Braaks, who survives his passing. The children who survive him are Mrs. Viola Abraham, Miss Leona and son Jack, all of Wentworth. He is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. J. A. Hauschild and Mrs. Dick Ahalfs of Le Mars and his other sister resides in California. There are also 6 grandchildren.

The tragic death of Mr. Siebels was a terrible shock to his many friends here where he was highly regarded and sympathy goes out to his widow and children.
