He was the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Harms of LeMars, and was born in Grant township, September 18, 1893, and grew to manhood in that community. Shortly after his marriage to Miss Esther Hennigs on December 2, 1915, they moved to a farm near White, South Dakota, where they lived until they returned to this county this fall and moved onto the home place when Mr. and Mrs. Fred Harms moved to LeMars the first of November.

Mr. Harms is survived by his wife and a son about a year and a half old, his parents, three sisters, Mrs. Katie Siebels, of Grant; Anna and Emma, and one brother, John, the last three named residing at home with their parents.

Mr. Harms was a successful and energetic young farmer and his death is a loss to the community as well as to the bereaved family.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon, the service at the house being at one o’clock. The body will then be interred in the Christ church cemetery at Mammen after which a funeral service will be held in the church conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. D. Meyer.
