ARTHUR J. PARKS DIED TUESDAY

Last Rites For Plymouth County Resident to Be Held Friday.

Arthur James Parks of Remsen passed away at the Methodist hospital in Sioux City, August 1, 1944. Mr. Parks had been in failing health for the past six months due to a heart ailment.

Arthur James Parks was born August 31, 1883 to Mr. and Mrs. I. J. Parks at Shelby, Iowa, and died at the age of 60 years and 11 died at the age of 60 years and 11 months. The family moved to Danbury when Mr. Parks was still a young man. July 3, 1907, he was united in marriage to Bessie Phelps of Washta, Iowa at Washta. Mr. Parks life occupation was farming first near Washta and then in Union township.

Mr. Parks was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.

Surviving are his widow, Bessie Parks, Remsen; three sons, Ronald, Paulina, Lowell, Remsen; and Wilbur at home three daughters, Mrs. Andrew C. Coliett, McPherson, Kans; Mrs. Lowell Dempster, Remsen; and Charlotte at home. H is also survived by seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 4 at the Nazarene church at 2:30. Interment will be in the LeMars city cemetery. Rev. L. E. Mether of Albia, Iowa, will officiate at the services.

The Osborne Funeral Home at Pierson, Iowa, will be in charge.
