Thursday, November 5, 1942DEATH CALLS MOTHER & BABY
Mrs. Carl Epley and her infant baby of Akron died only a few hours apart. Mrs. Epley gave birth to a baby daughter about 11:30 last Wednesday night but the baby lived but a few minutes. About 2 o’clock the following morning Mrs. Epley passed away.A double funeral was held Sunday afternoon. The mother and baby were laid away in the same casket. Burial was at Akron.
The husband and father was called to service recently and was stationed at Camp Walters, Texas. He arrived home last Friday to attend the funeral services.
Ione Hendricks was born at Akron, Sept. 24, 1921, and so was but a little more than 21 years of age. Her parents died when she was a mere child and her grandmother and her aunt, Mrs. Guy Dimmick of Ireton raised her. She was united in marriage with Carl Epley in December, 1941. They lived together at Akron until about a month ago when Mr. Epley was called to service.
