DEATH OF MRS. M. GRAU
WELL KNOWN RESIDENT SUCCXUMBS TO BRIEF ILLNESS
Mrs. Grau, wife of Leonard Grau, died at her home 401 Court street, on Wednesday night at half past eleven. Her death was due to an acute attack of Bright’s disease. She had been ill only for the past two weeks and her death was unexpected and came as a shock to her husband and friends.
Mrs. Grau was nearly forty-nine years of age and was born in Iowa, on August 25, 1869. Her maiden name was Minnie Caroline Meves. She was united in marriage in Sioux City ten years ago with Mr. Grau and they have made their home in LeMars during their married life. Her aged parents Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Meves, or Tama City, were called here by her death. Her mother was with her in her last illness and also her two sisters, Mrs. Christianson of Rockford, Ill., and Mrs. John Burley, of Tama.
She is survived by her husband and five step-children and besides her parents and sisters leaves four brothers, one residing in Waterloo, one in Sioux City and two in Tama county.
The funeral services will be held at the residence this Friday afternoon at 2:30 and the remains accompanied by her husband and relatives, will be taken to her old home at Tama for interment.
