Bert Smith died at his home in Kingsley last Friday morning of consumption. The deceased has been ailing for a number of years and had traveled in many states hoping to benefit his health. He leaves a wife and several children and a number of brothers and sisters to mourn his demise. The funeral service was held at the Christian church here last Sunday after which the remains were laid to rest in the Elkhorn cemetery. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of all.

NOTE: Date of death per his obituary notice is Friday, August 18, 1905.
Date of birth, per other family historians, was September 18, 1871.
His marriage to Martha Arminda Reynolds, who was born in Tennessee, took place in 1893.
