JOHN BOOM
Belmont, Wis. – Special: John Boom, 68, who was engaged in the implement and hardware business here for many years, died at his home Sunday morning at 10 o’clock following a lingering illness.
The body is at the home from where the funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock to the Methodist Church at 2 o’clock. The Rev. A. V. Ingham, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in the Belmont Cemetery.
Mr. Boom was born in Holland on June 14, 1870. He came to America at an early age, spending his early life in Iowa. Later he moved to Belmont, since his home. In 1900 he was married to Laura E. Riter.
Survivors include his widow; one daughter, Maude, and one son, Raymond, all of Belmont; four sisters, Mrs. Henry Brooker of Omaha, Neb., Mrs. John Fokken of Chancellor, S. D., Mrs. Hannah Hawkins of LeMars, Ia., and Mrs. Ralph Schupp of Mountain Grove, Mo.; four brothers, Henry of Belmont, Albert of Sioux Falls, S. W., William of Kingsley, Ia., and Garrett (Gerret) of Wall Lake, Ia.
