Death of E. M. Doyle

In the death of E. M. Doyle, which occurred Friday morning, February 27, 1920, this community lost one of its oldest and most respected citizens.

He was a man of quiet and reserved disposition, but staunch in his principles and upright and honorable in all dealings. For a number of years he had been one of the leading merchants of Westfield, taking an active part in the best interests of the town, and his genial presence will be greatly missed.

He had been in failing health for some time and finally succumbed to diabetes.

To mourn his taking away, he leaves a wife, five daughters and one son to whom the sincere sympathy of the entire community is extended.

He was 65 years of age, having been born in 1855.

The funeral services at St. Catherine’s church Monday morning were conducted by Rev. D.K. Hurley. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery at Akron.
