Richard Porter Maynard

AKRON, Iowa – Richard Porter Maynard, 35, of Medford, Ore., formerly of Akron, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 1990 at Medford following a long illness.

Memorial services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Akron, with the Rev. Tim Mason officiating. The body was cremated. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery at Akron. The Schroeder Funeral Home of Akron is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Maynard was born July 23, 1955, at Akron, the son of Porter and Hazel Maynard. He attended Sayles School in rural South Dakota and also Akron Public School, and was graduated in 1973. He took a computer course in Phoenix, Ariz., and then worked for the Toy National Bank in Sioux City. He also worked for a branch of Shell Oil Co. in California, and for Pontiac Sales Co. in Medford.

Survivors include his mother, Hazel, of Akron; two brothers, David of Akron, and Arnold of Huntsville, Ala., and a sister, Carolyn Hatten of Oceanside, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his father.
