May 02, 1925 - May 03, 2018Marjorie ‘Marg’ Conover, 93, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2018 at the United Methodist Church of Le Mars. Reverend Dr. Michel Lundula will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Le Mars. Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. The family will be present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Monday at the church. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars.
Marjorie May Moeller was born on May 2, 1925 in Ireton, Iowa, the daughter of John and Rose (Johnson) Moeller. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ireton. She attended school in Ireton and graduated from Ireton High School in 1942.
She was united in marriage to John Leon Conover on December 25, 1942, at the Methodist parsonage in Le Mars. She moved with John while he was serving in the United States Army. After his deployment overseas, she lived with her parents in Ireton.
Following his honorable discharge in March of 1946, they lived in Bemidji, Minnesota. In 1947, they moved to Le Mars. Marg was a homemaker for her family. John passed away December 27, 2006. In 2015, she moved to Park Place Estates in Le Mars. In August of 2017, she became a resident of Plymouth Manor in Le Mars.She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church of Le Mars where she was the funeral lunch chair for many years and was active in the church circle. She also served as Cub Scout leader for many years. Through the years, Marg enjoyed bowling, playing cards, having coffee with friends, and entertaining family and friends. She loved going to garage sales in hopes of finding that perfect treasure or antique. She also enjoyed decorating her home for the holidays. For many years, she would travel to California to visit her brother and his family. But most of all, she loved being with her family, especially her two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Survivors include a son: John ‘Jake’ (Linda) Conover of Le Mars; two grandchildren and their families, Jon (Christie) Conover of Orange City, IA, and their children, Rachel, and twins, Leah and Rebecca, and Sara (Damon) Magstadt of Elk Point, SD, and their son, Carter; her brother: Kenneth (Phyllis) Moeller of Eldorado Hills, CA; her niece: Marcy (Tom) Swanson of Eldorado Hills, CA, and their children, Alisa (Ken) Reyes, Sara (Levi) Choate, and Kristen Swanson; her nephew: Gregg Moeller of Eldorado Hills, CA, and his daughter, Rachel Moeller; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Conover; and her son: Alan Conover.~Obituary: Rexwinkel Funeral Home, LeMars, Iowa
