MRS. GEO. ZIMMERMAN PASSED AWAY SATURDAY
Mrs. George Zimmerman, residing at Sioux City, and a former resident of Hinton, passed away Saturday, May 8, [1954], at a Sioux City hospital following a lingering illness.
Hilda Buenger, the daughter of Anna Kleischmidt Buenger and John F. Buenger, was born July 27, 1893, in Milwaukee, Wis. She was married to George Zimmerman in the Evangelical church at Melbourne, Plymouth county, Iowa, June 4, 1913. The couple spent their married life in this vicinity excepting the past several years when they lived in Sioux City. Mrs. Zimmerman was a member of the Evangelical church while residing in this community.
Survivors include her husband, George, of Sioux City; two sisters, Mrs. Anita Spies of Hinton; and Mrs. Ray Kempin of Milwaukee, Wis.; a brother, Walter Buenger, of Milwaukee, and a granddaughter, Carol Dreeszen, of Akron. She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters and one son.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 11, at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical United Brethren church at Melbourne, with Rev. Charles Henry officiating and burial was in the Melbourne cemetery. Music was furnished by the church male quartet.
Pallbearers were Fred Spies, Milton Spies, Oscar Schindel, Frank Beguin and William Brehm.
