Rites For John Sternberg Last Thursday

Kingsley Town Marshal Thirty-Five Years

John C. Sternberg, the youngest member in the family of Carl and Marie Sternberg, was born in Galena. 111. June 10th, 1874, and passed to his eternal home on February 20th, 1950 at the age of 75 years, 8 month and 10 days.

When but a child he came with his folks from Galena, 111., to LeMars where they resided for some years. He attended the public school there and assumed all his normal responsibilities which automatically fell to his lot.

He was married to Selma Kehrberg of Kingsley, on November 18, 1903. He followed the agricultural pursuits for some years after their marriage. Following their marriage, they moved to Rathdrum, Idaho, and engaged in farming and veterinary practice. They moved from Idaho to Texas, where they remained briefly before returning to Kingsley in 1909 Mr. Sternberg was an employee of the town of Kingsley for 35 years, in the capacity of town marshal. Ill health compelled his retirement in 1947.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and son, Errol, of Kingsley, numerous nieces and nephews, a great many friends
