Clarence J. McMahon
Clarence James McMahon, 80, of Peru, Ill., formerly of Sioux City and Akron, Iowa, died Tuesday in a Peru hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. McMahon was born March 20, 1898, at Pipestone, Minn. He married Bessie Bennett June 10, 1931, at Akron.
From 1940 to 1947 they farmed near Akron, and in 1947 they moved to Sioux City. Mr. McMahon was employed at the Sioux City Stockyards for 20 years, and retired in 1692. He retired in 1962. Mrs. McMahon died in June of 1970. Mr. McMahon moved to Peru, Ill., in 1976.
Survivors include two sons, Philip of Sioux City and Vincent of Peru; a daughter, Sandra of Hannibal, Mo.; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Berniece McCue of Elk Point, S.D., and Mrs. Gladys Hendricks of Alcester, S.D. and one brother, Edward of Pierson, Iowa.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron. The Rev. Michael McHugh will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Akron.
