AKRON, Iowa—Mrs. Fred Halvorsen, 71, of Akron, died Tuesday after an apparent heart attack while walking home from downtown Akron.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Schroeder Funeral Home at Akron. The Rev. David Roy will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. Halversen, the former Minnie Abrahamson, ws born Dec. 22, 1905 in Union County, S.D. She was a homemaker. Her husband was a farm laborer, and later was employed at the Farmers Copperative Elevator in Akron.

Survivors include the widower; two daughters, Mrs. Jake (Gloria) Wates of Gary, Ind.; a son, Dwayne red of Earlton, N.Y.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; five brothers, Ole. Hjalmer and Clarence, all of Beresford, S.D., Roy of Akron and Leonard of Snoqualmie, Wash.; and four sisters, Mrs. Olivia Sommervold of Akron, Mrs. Marie Ronnei of Carnation, Wash., Mrs. Violet Sand of Alcester, S.D., and Mrs. Alvera Rusten of Beresford.
