SPENT GIRLHOOD IN THIS COUNTY MRS. NETTIE JANS WAS MEMBER, OF WELL KNOWN PIONEER FAMILY

Mrs. Nettie Jans, wife of Frank Jans, of Motley, Minn., and former Plymouth county resident, died at a hospital In St. Paul, Minn.; Monday, January 7, of heart trouble. Mrs. Jans had been in poor health for some time suffering from an internal malady and was taken to the hospital for an operation.

In her girlhood, Mrs. Jans was a resident of Plymouth county. Her maiden name was Nettie Utesch. She was born in Benton county, February 14, 1883. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Utesch, came to Plymouth county when she was a baby. Mr. Utesch, now deceased, became owner of fine farms, in Johnson and Washington townships. Mrs. Jans received her early training and education in the rural schools. She was married to Frank Jans twenty-six years ago. They lived subsequently in Rock county and Cass county, Minnesota, and of late years lived near Motley.

She is survived by her husband, a son, Milo, and a daughter, Della. She also leaves her aged mother, Mrs. August Utesch, of this city, four brothers, Paul, William, Charles and Bert, of this county, and one sister, Mrs. Gus Jans, of Red Bluff California.

The funeral service will be held this Afternoon at St. John's Lutheran; church, Rev J. J. Vollmar officiating, and interment will be made In the Johnson township cemetery where other members of the family are buried

Mrs. Jans was well known in the community and enjoyed the respect of a large number of acquaintances and old neighbors.
