Obituary for Patricia Hansen

Patricia A. Hansen, 74, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Wednesday July 19, 2017 at the Grandview Care Center in Oelwein, Iowa. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Deacon Tom Henrich will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Patricia Ann Sutton was born on March 19, 1943 in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Arnold and Lois (Baker) Sutton. She attended Gehlen Catholic School and graduated from Le Mars High School. In her younger years, Pat enjoyed fishing and hunting with her father. She also volunteered as a candy striper at Sacred Heart Hospital in Le Mars.

Patricia and Keith Orban were married in November of 1961. They became parents of three children. The couple later separated.

Patricia was a caring person and worked as a nursing assistant for many years. She furthered her education at Western Iowa Technical Community College in Sioux City by earning a degree in secretarial work. She would work in Sioux City in the clerical field, at MCI and at Perkins.

In December of 1985, Patricia and Ronald Hansen were united in marriage. Together they enjoyed traveling, dancing, dining out and spending time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Patricia enjoyed decorating and gardening. She will be remembered by family and friends as a fun, loving and caring woman.

Patricia will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Sheila (Tom) Gose of Cedar Rapids, IA and Lisa Orban of Sioux Falls, SD; two sisters, Gayle (Randy) Eide of Cape Coral, FL and Peggy (Dan) McInerney of Sioux Falls, SD; two brothers, Charles (LuAnn) Sutton of St. Louis, MO and Tim (Beth) Sutton of Wagoner, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Mathias Keith Orban; and her husband, Ronald Hansen.
