Margaret "Mickey" Jespersen, 95, of Akron, Iowa passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011 at her home in Akron.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 5, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Akron. Pastor Doug Collins and Marie Lykken, Chaplain from Hospice of Siouxland will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Akron. Visitation with the family present will be on Sunday, December 4, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Prayer service scheduled for 6:00 p.m., all at the church. The Carlsen Funeral Home - Schroeder Chapel in Akron is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret Wilhelmina Hartmann was born January 6, 1916 in Tea, South Dakota, the daughter of Bruno and Margaret (Theilen) Hartmann. As a toddler, she moved with her family to Akron. She attended grade school and started high school in Akron before moving to Chicago to live with her brother and his wife, and finish her schooling. Following high school, Mickey continued to live and work in Chicago. Later, she moved back to Akron to help take care of her mother. She was united in marriage to Ramon "Ray" Jespersen on July 5, 1962. Ray and Mickey made their home in Akron. Ray passed away October 18, 2007 in Akron. Mickey was a member of the First Baptist Church in Akron. She and Ray enjoyed flying their airplane and Mickey was proud of the fact that she held a pilot''s license like her husband. They enjoyed traveling locally and abroad. She also enjoyed golfing and bowling for many years. Recently, she has enjoyed having coffee with her friends at her home or the bowling alley. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include two brothers: Ed R. Hartmann (Virginia) of Akron, and Ray Hartmann (Lilly) of Boulder, CO; 2 step children: Bruce Jespersen of Wagner, SD and MariEtta Adams of Overland Park, KS; 2 step grandchildren: Kim Feathers (Tim) of Overland Park, KS and their children, Austin and Olivia, and Steve Adams (Kelly) of Omaha, NE, and their children, Taylor and Brayden; 4 sisters in law: Arlene Merkwan of Sioux Falls, SD, Helen Chernotik of Wagner, SD, Bonnie Hartmann of Akron, and Penny Hartmann of Akron; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray; her siblings: Alice Eichalker, Anne Willer, Rudy J. Hartmann, Gary Hartmann, Ben Hartmann, Carl Hartmann, and Matilda Hartmann. Memorials can be made in Mickey's name to Hospice of Siouxland.
