LE MARS, Iowa -- Diane L. (Holtgrewe) Oxford, 54, of West Burlington, Iowa, formerly of Le Mars, died Saturday, April 21, 2007, at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church in Le Mars, with the Rev. Mike James officiating. Burial will be in Remsen City Cemetery, Remsen, Iowa. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

Diane, the daughter of Burdette and Gracie (Cave) Holtgrewe, was born Oct. 26, 1952, in Primghar, Iowa. She graduated from Remsen-Union High School in 1970. She received her nursing degree from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Sioux City. During her career, she was a nurse at Mercy Medical Center - Sioux City, worked in medical sales and served as a hospital administrator.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt. In recent years, she took great joy in spending time with her three grandchildren. She was passionate about caring for others. She volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House and read to elementary school students. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and walks with her dog, Bailey.

She is survived by four children and three grandchildren, Nichole Mohning-Roths and her husband, John Roths and their three children, Will, Ella and Adeline Roths of Salina, Kan., Matthew Mohning and his wife, Beth Forsythe of Washington, D.C., Alex Mohning of Peoria, Ill., and Adam Mohning and his wife, Becky of Fairfax, Va.; her mother, Gracie Holtgrewe of Le Mars; four sisters and two brothers, Evonne and her husband, Craig Ewinger of West Burlington, Iowa, Anita Collier of Le Mars, B.J. Holtgrewe and his wife, Lynne of Bellevue, Wash., Pat and her husband, Jeff Nelson of Atlantic, Iowa, John Holtgrewe and his wife, Nancy of Le Mars and Lisa and her husband, Ervin Whitehead of Le Mars; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Burdette Holtgrewe Sr.
