AKRON, Iowa - Lillian E. Fox, 68, of Mahomet, Ill., formerly of Akron died Thursday, May 22, 1997, at her residence following a brief illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Akron, with the Rev. Gordon Granberg officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery at Akron. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m., at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.

Mrs. Fox was born March 31, 1929, at Halibird, S.D., to Wesley W. and Genevieve C. (Sand) Peterson. She attended school at Huron, S.D., and married Lloyd J. Blondheim Sept. 20, 1947, at the Church of Christ in Huron. In 1962, she moved to Havana, Ill. She married Everett R. Fox April 3, 1964, at Mt. Carroll, Ill. They were in the cafe business at Havana from 1964 to 1969. She also worked for Mobil Chemical Company from Jan. 8, 1970, until retiring Oct. 1, 1987. In 1987 she moved to Akron, and later worked at the Hiway Cafe and the Center for Management Systems. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling, and cooking.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary and the VFW Auxillary of Jacksonville, Ill., both for 27 years.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Linda Ann and Gilbert Mills of Mahomet; a son and his wife, Gene Alan and Ann Blondheim of Huron, S.D.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother and his wife, Carlisle J. and Lottie Peterson of Huron.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Rosella E. Anderson and Bonita M. Whitney.

Pallbearers include John Sand, Keith Swanson, Russell Flolo, Wade Johnson, and Rodney and Dick Anderson.
