LE MARS, Iowa - Rhodora S. Buss, 86, of Le Mars died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 1997, at Floyd Valley Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars with the Rev. Larry Fett officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.
Mrs. Buss was born Nov. 9, 1920, in Van Horne, Iowa, the daughter of James and Nadeana (Jenkins) Yoch. She was raised in Superior, Iowa and later moved with her family to Le Mars were she graduated from Le Mars Central High School. She went to Western Union College and received her bachelors degree in business education and later her masters degree from the University of Denver.
She taught high school for 10 years in several small towns in Iowa.
She married Richard Buss on Aug. 18, 1954, in Jackson, Minn. The couple made Le Mars their home. She had been employed at Al Becker Tax Service, Supersweet Feeds and Plymouth Plumbing and Heating.
She was an active member of the Begonia Society were she participated in several roundrobin discussions.
She enjoyed going to flea markets, where she had made several friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Buss, Laurie Buss and her special friend, Bob Oltmanns, all of Le Mars; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 27, 1985; and two brothers, Verne and Verald Yoch.
