Mrs Chris Portz, 70, Sheldon, died Sunday at the Sheldon hospital.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Sheldon's St. Patrick Catholic church with Rev. Cletus Keleher officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery under direction of Vander Ploeg funeral home. Parish rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Tuesday night.

The former Rose Haupert, she was born Dec. 20, 1899 at Granville. She was married Feb. 8,1927, at Granville.

Survivors are her husband; three sons, Donald, Gerald and Raphael (Ray) of Sheldon; five sisters, Mrs. Margaret Gaspar of Rock Valley, Mrs. William Stallman of independence, Mo., Mrs. B. A. Stallman of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Ray Portz of. Holland, Minn., Mrs. Frank Spieler of Granville; three brothers, Nick of Remsen, Jake of Alton and Lawrence of Pipestone, Minn.; and nine grandchildren
